“Araguaia” is a river system in Brazil and it is under this name that the plant has become known. The stem becomes 10-20 cm tall and 6-15 cm wide.

Hygrophila pinnatifida originates from India. It obtains brown, patched leaves on the surface with a distinctive burgundy colour underneath. Growth is moderate, stems 15-40 cm tall and 10-20 cm wide.

Schismatoglottis prietoi can resemble Anubias, wit 3-8 cm long, eliptic leaves. Growth is faster, though, and it grows best planted in the bottom layer, where it willingly produces runners.
