Aqua-Noa CO2 Solenoid Valve

The Aqua Noa CO2 solenoid valve is a convenient tool if you add CO2 to your aquarium.

Because CO2 does not need to be added to the aquarium at night, you could manually shut off the CO2 supply at night — but the chance of occasionally forgetting is quite high. In that case, a CO2 solenoid valve comes in handy.

The CO2 hose from your pressure regulator is connected to the solenoid valve, and the plug of the solenoid valve is inserted into a timer. You can then set the timer to switch it on or off at the desired times.

In addition to a timer, it is also possible to use a solenoid valve in combination with a pH controller, which will then control the CO2 supply.

Note: There are two models: one without and one with a check valve. The check valve protects the CO2 system against backflow of water. Normally, you place a separate check valve in the hose after the solenoid valve. This is not necessary with the solenoid valve that has an integrated check valve.
