ADA Power Sand Advance

ADA Power Sand Advance is a high-quality nutrient substrate that helps stimulate the growth of aquarium plants. This substrate mainly consists of porous volcanic rock and is enriched with nutrients and slowly releasing inorganic minerals.

Just like Power Sand Basic, this product also contains Bacter 100 and Clear Super for the healthy development of substrate microorganisms. Additionally, extra ADA Tourmaline BC (bamboo charcoal powder) is added to promote plant growth.

Features

• Natural porous volcanic rock ensures excellent water circulation in the substrate and prevents rotting plant roots.
• Prevents compaction of the substrate and provides optimal oxygen supply to the root zone.
• Contains organic and slowly releasing inorganic nutrients absorbed by aquatic plants through their roots.
• Addition of Bacter 100 and Clear Super quickly stimulates colonization of beneficial bacteria in the substrate.
• Promotes a healthy substrate ecosystem, partly thanks to ADA BC Powder, supporting long-term aquatic plant growth.

Application and Use

• Choose the correct grain size based on your aquarium (S for up to 40 cm, M for 40–60 cm, and L for 60 cm and above).
• Use Power Sand Advance as the bottom layer in the substrate, with a thickness of 1–2 cm.
• Sprinkle Power Sand directly from the package into the aquarium and level the surface.
• Cover Power Sand with a layer of Aqua Soil for optimal plant growth.
• Fill the aquarium carefully with water, preferably by letting the water flow onto a plate or tray to prevent disturbing the substrate.

Tips/Recommendations

• Do not use an undergravel filter in combination with Power Sand Advance; an external filter is recommended.
• Temporary elevated ammonium (NH₄) and nitrite (NO₂) levels may occur in a new aquarium due to the organic nutrients.
• Use activated carbon in the filter during the initial phase and change the water regularly to limit harmful substances.
• Check water quality with a test kit before introducing fish or shrimp. Wait until ammonium and nitrite are no longer detectable.
