Twinstar B-Line: Affordable Lighting for Your Aquarium
Are you looking for lighting that truly makes your fish and plants shine, without immediately paying a premium price? The Twinstar B-Line (Version III) has been a favorite among aquarium enthusiasts for years, and with the latest 2025 upgrade, this series is better than ever. Whether you have a small nano tank or a wide community aquarium, the B-Line offers the perfect balance between brightness and color.
Why choose the Twinstar B-Line III?
While many standard aquarium lights produce a dull or cold white light, the B-Line’s WRGB technology brings the natural colors of your aquarium to life. Reds appear deeper, greens fresher, and fish display their true colors.
The latest generation (Version III) has been significantly improved in several areas:
- More powerful light: Higher lumen output than its predecessor, ensuring better plant growth and clear visibility.
- Sleek design: The housing is made of high-quality aluminum. This not only looks elegant above your aquarium but also provides excellent heat dissipation, extending the lamp’s lifespan.
- No light shocks: Thanks to the built-in sunrise and sunset function, your fish can gradually adapt to the light.
Which plants is the Twinstar B-Line series suitable for?
The Twinstar B-Line is an excellent lamp, but it is important to note that it offers a medium light intensity. In aquascaping, plants are often categorized by their light requirements (easy, medium, advanced). The B-Line series is ideal for easy and medium plants, such as:
Ferns and mosses: Java ferns, Bolbitis, and almost all moss species thrive under this lighting.
Anubias and Bucephalandra: These slow-growing plants prefer shade to moderate light. The B-Line enhances their colors without encouraging excessive algae growth.
Cryptocoryne species: These hardy marsh plants grow steadily and remain compact under the B-Line.
Simple background plants: Such as Vallisneria, Belgian Green, or Hygrophila. They grow well, though not as rapidly as under the more powerful S-Line.
Floating plants: Because they are close to the light source, floating plants grow exceptionally well under the B-Line.
The Twinstar B-Line is less suitable for high-end aquascapes with very demanding plants such as true carpeting plants, deep red stem plants, or aquariums deeper than 50–60 cm.
Control that suits your needs
Each B-Line lamp comes standard with an inline controller. This allows you to set the lighting duration (6, 8, or 10 hours) and choose from 7 different intensity levels. An optional Bluetooth controller can be added for full control via the Twinstar app, enabling precise brightness adjustment and extended sunrise simulations for a more natural effect.

Our tips
- Start gently: With a new aquascape, begin at 50–60% of the maximum output during the first few weeks. This allows plants to establish themselves while reducing the risk of algae.
- The B-Line is ideal for shrimp aquariums and breeding tanks with many mosses and easy plants, as the light is calm and less stressful for animals.
