Me Aquaristic FlexTube Filter Hose Black – 3 Metres

Me Aquaristic FlexTube Filter Hose Black – 3 Metres

Dirty, algae-covered filter hoses behind your aquarium or inside the cabinet can look untidy. In addition, algae growth inside light-permeable hoses can noticeably reduce your filter's flow rate. The black Me Aquaristic FlexTube solves this problem straight away. Since no light passes through the hose, algae cannot grow on the inside. The black color also blends discreetly into the background or a dark aquarium cabinet.

The hose is made of flexible silicone. This makes it resistant to kinking, even when routed around tight bends near the aquarium rim or cabinet. You can easily cut the hose to your desired length using a sharp knife or hose cutter.

Choose the right size for your filter and connections:

• 12/16 mm: Inner diameter 12 mm, outer diameter 16 mm. Commonly used with smaller external filters (such as Oase ThermoSmart 100, JBL e402/e702) and standard lily pipes.
• 16/22 mm: Inner diameter 16 mm, outer diameter 22 mm. The standard size for most medium to large external filters (such as Eheim Professional, JBL e902/e1502 and Oase Biomaster).
• 19/25 mm: Inner diameter 19 mm, outer diameter 25 mm. Suitable for powerful circulation pumps, large filtration systems and high-flow setups.

Our Tip

New silicone hoses can sometimes be a little stiff during initial installation. Dip the end of the hose in a cup of hot (not boiling) water for 10 seconds. The material will become extremely flexible, allowing you to slide the hose effortlessly over the inlet, outlet or tap without applying excessive force. Once cooled, the silicone contracts snugly to create a leak-proof connection.

Maintenance and Installation

Route the hose without excessive tension or kinks. Although the black material prevents algae growth, a layer of bacterial slime (biofilm) may still build up after a few months. During major filter maintenance, clean the inside of the hose using a flexible hose brush and briefly flush it with tap water.
