Turn a compartment of your Ikea Kallax shelving unit into a sleek mini ecosystem. Measuring 33 × 38 × 22 cm, the Systema K33 has exactly the right dimensions to fit seamlessly into the compartments of this popular shelving unit.

Smart fit

With a width of 33 cm, the glass fits neatly between the side panels of a Kallax shelving unit. The 38 cm depth extends approximately 4 to 5 cm beyond the front. This still gives you easy access from above for feeding or carrying out maintenance.

Generous base area for aquascaping

Thanks to its low height of 22 cm, you can look deep into the aquarium. This gives you a generous base area of almost 33 × 38 cm. Plenty of space for shrimp to graze and lots of room for a low-profile layout with spiderwood, dragon stone and plant species such as Eleocharis or Monte Carlo.

High-quality finish & safety

The aquarium is made from 5 mm clear glass. The joints are neatly bonded. A 5 mm glass sliding lid sits on top. This helps retain heat and reduces evaporation.

Our tip: Place a filled 27-litre aquarium (the weight including substrate and stones can quickly reach 35 to 40 kg) in the lower compartments of your Kallax shelving unit, directly above the bottom panel. Always place a thin aquarium mat (or a 3 mm foam mat cut to size) underneath the aquarium. The wood and chipboard used in Ikea shelving units can flex slightly, creating point loads that may cause cracks in the base panel.
