Description
Sera kH Test
The Sera kH Test is an effective and easy tool for measuring the carbonate hardness (kH) of your aquarium water. This test is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater and can measure approximately 390 °dKH (390 drops).
Usage
- Preparation: Take a clean test vial and fill it with the prescribed amount of aquarium water (see instructions for use).
- Adding drops: Add drops of the kH test liquid to the water in the test vial.
- Color change point: Count the number of drops required until the water changes color.
- Determining the kH value: The number of drops added corresponds to the kH value of your aquarium water. For example, if the color changes after 4 drops, the kH value is between 3 and 4 °dKH.
Adjusting the kH value
- Lowering kH:
- Add alder cones or peat.
- Use a pH-lowering substrate.
- Increasing kH:
- Add harder water.
- Use a kH-raising product, such as a KH builder.
Specifications
- Capacity: For approximately 390 °dKH (390 drops)
- Application: For freshwater and saltwater
