Manaus Levamicil has been specially developed for the successful treatment of roundworms (Nematodes) in fish. This infection is caused by hairworms and Camallanus cotti. These parasitic infections are responsible for the gradual wasting away of the animals, eventually leading to death. Young fish and smaller species often die in a short time from massive infestations of these parasites.

This preparation is characterized by very rapid therapeutic success and very good tolerance for the fish.

Recognizing Nematodes in fish

Infections with hairworms may cause the following symptoms in affected fish:

• Swollen belly despite little or no food intake
• Weight loss despite good food intake
• White feces caused by intestinal inflammation due to Nematodes

An infection with Camallanus cotti can be recognized with the naked eye by the following symptoms:

• Thin red worms protruding from the anus, which can retreat back into the intestines
• Worms protruding from the abdominal wall
• Swollen belly despite little or no food intake

Dosage and use

The treatment to rid your fish of Nematodes takes place in two steps. Use the measuring cup provided in the package to dose Levamicil, and distribute the medication evenly across the water surface. Then mix the product thoroughly into the aquarium water by stirring.

Dosage

• 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water

On the 6th day the 1st treatment is complete, and a large water change of 80% of the aquarium water must be carried out. Ten days after this water change, a 2nd treatment follows with the same dosage: 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.

Afterwards, just like with the 1st treatment, another large water change of 80% must be carried out after 6 days.

During this treatment with Levamicil, no active filter media (such as activated carbon or phosphate remover) may be used. UV lamps must also be switched off.
